On Saturday 15th May 2010 Fran set off in her newly acquired wayfarer 'Viper' to sail around mainland Britain, except for the fact that she intends to cut through the Caledonian Canal which cuts off the top of Scotland which is a bit wild. Fran, is an experienced Merlin Rocket sailor and a qualified yacht master.

The UKWA admire Fran's courage and determination in sailing round the UK in her newly acquired Wayfarer. Her fortitude is a shining example for all. The progress she has achieved to date has been quite outstanding, and we wish her suitable weather conditions in the coming weeks to be able to complete her venture successfully. She would obviously welcome any messages of support from Wayfarer members.

The UKWA do strongly recommend that anyone attempting any ambitious cruise has considerable sea cruising experience in a dinghy, as well as a high level of sailing competency.
